Welcome to Homeport
The Island Nursing Home and Care Center has a 32-bed residential/assisted living unit. Currently most rooms are doubles, although we have several single rooms as well. At Homeport, residents receive dignified and compassionate assistance, as needed, with those activities associated with daily living. Care is customized to encourage residents’ independence while maintaining a comfortable, safe, and caring environment.
With the help of volunteers, our staff organizes a rich program of activities designed to stimulate residents and to encourage social interaction. Some of these events include:
Musical performances
Trips to stores and restaurants in the area
Art and craft classes
Church services
Picnics and cook-outs
Exercise classes
Special events, like a prom, a luau, Christmas parties, and a carnival
Birthday celebrations
Visits and performances by local school children
Visits by therapy pets
